Family adventure in the French, Swiss and Austrian Alps

This summer we decided to take the kids around the best places in Europe. Well, not the whole of it, but whatever we could fit within 2 weeks without getting ourselves crazy with travel.

A basically planned route, a list of possible hotels and campings (we preferred campsites to be in the nature as much as possible), and a lot of enthusiasm was what we started with. What we ended with? Great emotions, wonderful sites we’ve seen, lots of new things we’ve experienced together, and places we definitely want to get back again!

Within a total of 2 weeks we’ve been to Italy’s Alta Val Trebbia area, made a quick stop in the French riviera (Antibes, Saint Tropez), walked around L’isle sur la Sorgue in France, spent several hectic activity days Tignes/Val d’Isere in France, enjoyed the peaks and numerous sports activities in Sölden and Kaprun in Austria. We had great stays in mountain campsites and hotels, practiced many different sports, and made useful conclusions on planning our next family trip a bit better – you will find some of those in a series of upcoming posts.

But, the biggest conclusion we came to was – never visit highly popular places in July and August 🙂 The traffic jams, crowded beaches and full accommodation places were just too much for a family with kids. So – our next family vacation will be in the low and cooler seasons 🙂

Enjoy my vacation posts, and hope you’ll find them useful to plan your family vacation too!
